Jessie "Jack" Amaker, a Spartanburg native known for his love of music, passed away on June 21, 2023, at the age of 83.   He was born on February 1, 1940, to the late James McNeely Amaker and Beulah Aiken Amaker.  Jack was a long-time resident of the Charles Lea Home in Spartanburg.

Jack had a loving smile that he shared all day long with everyone around him.  His passion for music would often find him singing or playing the harmonica. Jack enjoyed listening to the radio all day long.  He loved drinking coffee and eating all kinds of foods, chicken was a favorite of his.

Jack's graveside service is set to take place at 10:00 AM, on June 26, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located at 1300 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg.  Pastor Alan Bagwell will officiate.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Solesbee of Lyman; brother, Charles (Judy) Amaker of Boiling Springs; two nieces, Rhonda Childress (Dale), of Greer and Kathy Acton (Tony), of Spartanburg; five nephews; Wayne Amaker (Crissy), of Cowpens, Marvin "B0" Amaker (Debra), of Boling Springs, Charles Amaker Jr. (Ashley), of Boiling Springs, Bobby Amaker (Tonya), of Inman and Kevin Henson (Patty), of Chesnee.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased in death by two brothers, Jimmy L. Amaker and Maxie Amaker, his sister, Janice Amaker; a niece, Renee Gossett and a nephew, Randy Amaker.

Jack lived a full life surrounded by love from friends and family alike. He will be deeply missed.
