It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Jeanette Arwood Holcomb, who departed this life on May 16, 2026, at the age of 80.
Jeanette (Nana) was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering love, and quiet grace. She faced life’s challenges with determination and resilience, showing those around her what courage truly looked like. Her hands were rarely still – whether tending to the flowers she cherished or caring for the family she loved beyond measure.
Her yard was one of her greatest joys, a reflection of her spirit: beautiful, steady, full of life and color. She found peace among the blooming flowers and took pride in creating beauty, both inside and outside her house. To know her was to know someone who could bring comfort, wisdom and warmth even in difficult times.
Above all Jeanette loved her family. She was a devoted Wife, Mama, Nana, Sister, and Friend, whose love was fierce, dependable, and unconditional. Her family was the center of her world, and she spent her life nurturing them with the same care she gave every flower in her yard. Her strength literally carried generations, and her love leaves an imprint that time cannot erase.
She is survived by her loving family who will forever cherish her memory, her stories, her laughter and her lessons: Sister – Sue Arwood Myers, Son – Roger Douglas “Doug” Holcomb, Jr. (Tana), Grandchildren – Adrienne Hansman Ganner (Graham), Angela Hansman Brown, Johnathon Douglas Holcomb, Malinda Rice Alverson (Adam), and Madison Holcomb Cooke (Sean), Great-Grandchildren: Colby Rash, Logan Brown, Aubrey Rash, Keely Brown, Alek Alverson, Charlee Ganner, Olivia Ganner, Abrham Brown, and Anna Alverson. She is also survived by her treasured puppy Ollie and ALL those who called her Nana.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Douglas Holcomb, Sr. and her daughters: Angela Marie Holcomb, and Tammy Holcomb Hansman.
Though she is no longer with us, her legacy blooms on in the hearts of those who loved her, in every flower that blossoms, and in the family that she held so dear.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate her life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park in Spartanburg SC. Family will receive friends in the home at 121 Leisure Lane, Spartanburg SC 29307.
