Jane Fortner

Jane Mason Fortner, 88, died August 20, 2021, at Upstate Community Hospice Home in Landrum, SC.  She was born April 13, 1933, in Cleveland County, NC, a daughter of the late Ella Sue Roberts Mason and was married to the late Luther McDaniel Fortner.

Jane was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church and the Milbra Higgins Sunday School Class. She was the owner and operator of Jane’s Styling Salon for many years, and was formerly employed with Raycord Corporation, Dixie Shirt Company, and later with Chartwell Food Services at Dorman High School and Dawkins Middle School.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn F. Waddell (Allan); a son, Todd Fortner; grandsons, Jason Cantrell, Josh Fortner and Brandon Waddell; four great-grandchildren, Eli, Mason, Kynlee and Colson; and a sister, Rachel Owings.  Jane was also predeceased by her daughter, Deborah J. Fortner, and her brother, James L. Mason.

Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Dr. James C. Hilton.  The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. We respectfully request that everyone wear a mask for safety precautions.

The family will be at the home of Lynn and Allan Waddell.
