James "Jim" Scott

January 21, 1935 — January 22, 2022

James “Jim” Cannon Scott, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home. Born January 21, 1935 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Samuel Ward and Alma Sprouse Scott, and the husband of the late Sara Calloway Scott for 56 years.

A US Air Force veteran, Mr. Scott was a graduate of Limestone College and was retired from Sloan Construction Company. He was a member of Cannons Campground United Methodist Church where he was a former member of the choir. He loved his community and his family, as well as playing golf.

Survivors include his son, James W. Scott (Michelle) of Sarasota, FL, grandson, Steele Harris, granddaughter, Storm Harris, along with other extended members of the family. He was also predeceased by one brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 1:45 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Cannons United Methodist Church, 3450 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM at the church, conducted by The Rev. Brian Gilmer and The Rev. Joe Blackwelder.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Cannons Community for their love and support to Jim.
