James Walter Quinn, 91, of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
James was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina, the son of the late Fred Quinn and the late Ida Mae Moore Quinn. He was also preceded in death by a son: James Ronald Quinn; a brother: Fred Quinn; and two sisters: Shirley Quinn Lee and Corrine Quinn Willard.
James served his country with honor in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He was also a retired engineer with Beverage Air Company. He was also a well-known master craftsman in building custom cabinets. He was a good provider and a hard-working man. He was an avid Atalanta Braves Fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his many memories are his loving wife of 69 years: Melba Gail Quinn; his three children: Deborah Renee Quinn Whitlock (Eddy). Michael Ray Quinn, and Randall Scott Quinn; one sister: Rebecca Quinn Owens; five grandchildren: Lindsey Quinn, Hannah Rhoades (Austin), Kristen Dunagan, Jody Whitlock, and Jay Whitlock; five great grandchildren, a nephew also survives: Kevin Owens.
The family will receive friends between 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Floyd Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral service to honor his life will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. The entombment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel.
James’s many memories will live for years to come in the hearts of everyone that knew and loved him.
