James Metcalf

James Leon "Jim" Metcalf, 77, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 28, 1938, in Campobello, SC, he was the son of the late Howard Bush Metcalf and Alberta Burns Metcalf. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Metcalf was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from International Paper after 36 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn King (McCallister) Metcalf; son, James Preston Metcalf (Natalie) of Pauline, SC; stepsons, Conrad Lamar McCallister (Amy) of Spartanburg, SC, and Michael Jason McCallister (Dana), of Roebuck, SC; grandchildren, Andrew "Drew" (Lindsay), Hannah, Haylee, Tanner, Colton, Lauren, Scott, and Cole; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Jamey-Drew, and Eli; sisters, Dorothy Jane Settle of Inman, SC and Hazel Elaine Foster of Roebuck, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Clyde Metcalf. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jack Caldwell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
