Jack Bogan

Jack N. Bogan, 80, of 753 North Liberty Street, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at his home. Born November 6, 1928, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Herman and Rose Bogan and husband of the late Annie Duggins Bogan. He was employed by the Beacon Drive-in for 35 years and retired from Michelin after 15 years of service. He was a member of St. John's Lodge #333 AFM and Drayton Baptist Church. Jack was a "people person" and made friends easily. He was also a very hard worker and great provider for his family. He and his wife were married for 55 years; they are now joined for eternal life. He was a loving father and will be dearly missed by his children. Survivors include a son, Randy Bogan and fianc Daryl Gardner of Spartanburg; two daughters, Gina Johnson and husband Rusty of Columbia, and Kitty Kirtsey and husband Ron of Duncan; two granddaughters, Beth Whitten and husband Brian, and Kristen Beck and husband Buddy, all of Duncan; a grandson, Andrew Bogan and wife Kim of Franklin, NC; two great-granddaughters, Kalei Ann Bogan of Franklin, NC, and Emma Whitten of Duncan; and one great-grandson, Alex Beck of Duncan. He was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn conducted by the Rev. Barry Snead and the Rev. Jerry Clevenger. A private interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
