Ira Bagwell

Ira Andrew Bagwell, 78, died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at his home. Born September 1, 1932, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Parker and Myrtle Clark Bagwell. He was formerly employed with Ina Bearing Company and attended Davis Memorial Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, a member of Bass Masters, an umpire for Spartanburg Parks and Recreation, and was a loving husband, father, grand- and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Melba Webb Bagwell; three daughters, Kim B. Duncan of Inman, Lisa B. Arteaga of Spartanburg, and Tammy B. Smith of Surfside Beach; a brother, George W. Bagwell of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
