Inez Pritchard Golden

Inez Pritchard Golden, age 91 of the Twin Lakes community, in Moore, SC, died January 4, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in Landrum, SC Inez was the daughter of the late Harrison Benjamin and Mae Louise Page Pritchard. She was the widow of her beloved husband of 53 years, the late James Leonard Golden (2017).

She was a 1952 graduate of Gramling High School and attended Cecil's Business College. With tailoring classes at Savannah, Georgia Vocational School, she went on to become a professional seamstress pursuing her love in fashion design as well as interior design and landscaping. While at Ascension Lutheran Church in Savannah, she was a Sunday School teacher and Leader of the Rebecca Derrick Circle. She was an avid walker participating 20 years in Walk America. She served as Executive Assistant to Presidents Dr. Fredric Irvin and Dr. Glenn E. Whitesides at Newberry College and retired as Administrative Secretary from the SRHS Foundation after 27 years of service. She was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church serving as Communion Assistant and former member of the Alter Guild.

Survivors include nieces Barbara Siegfried, Patsy Walker, Phyllis Wright, Juanita Hamilton and nephews Jim & Ed Shumans, Randy Solesbee and Terry Scott.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Nellie Solesbee, Estelle Covenah, Alma Anton and Ola Mae Culbreth, a brother, Will Nathan Pritchard, and a half-brother, Henry J. Pritchard. 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 1430 John B. White, Jr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC. 

Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with services officiated by the Rev. Dr. Alan Kinsey. Graveside services will be conducted in Newberry Memorial Gardens, Newberry, SC.

The family requests that memorials be made to the "James L. & Inez P. Golden Endowed Scholarship", Wofford College, 429 Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 1430 John B. White, Jr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
