Imogene Kimbrell Tolleson, 73, of Spartanburg, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 1, 2022 at home. She was born December 13, 1948 in Spartanburg to the late James Kimbrell, Jr. and Faye Marie Lewis Kimbrell.
Survivors include her daughter, Gina Marie Tolleson of Santa Barbara, CA; grandsons, Carter William Thicke, Luca Ciao Tolleson Wiesenthal, and Tiago Lorenzo Tolleson Wiesenthal, all of Santa Barbara, CA; sister, Barbara Hawke of Covington, GA; and brother, Phil Kimbrell of Boiling Springs, SC. She was predeceased by her husband, George William Tolleson, Jr., and parents.
She was a beauty, she was tall and strong, she was soft and full of grace, she was the one you wanted in your corner, she was clapping from the front row, she was the one who always wanted the best for you.
A daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, a mother, a Nammy, a widow, a partner…she will always be with you.
A Celebration of Life will be privately held with family where she will be encircled with love, light and admiration.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, hug your loved ones today and tell them you love them, drink the wine, eat the cherry pie for breakfast, take a yoga class to breathe, stretch and let things go, buy yourself your favorite flowers, dance like no one is watching to Tina Turner, try Mexico for Thanksgiving and a Christmas in Hawaii, and take that road-trip in a convertible Mustang up the Pacific Coast Highway to Big Sur with the wind in your hair and a giggle.
Imogene will meet you there.
