Herbert Haymond, Jr, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 12, 2026. He was 93 years of age.
Herbert was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was the son of the late Herbert Haymond, Sr and the late Bessie Gertude Liddy Haymond. He was also preceded in death by two siblings: Everett E Haymond and Kathryn F Strathdee; and two grandchildren; also, his first wife: Nicole Marie Proctor (mother of his children).
Herbert served his country as a lieutenant in the United States Army. He was also very active with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a very successful career as a computer programmer. He was also a Boy Scoutmaster for 12 years and later served in various other capacities which earned him the Silver Beaver Award. He was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends.
Left to cherish Herbert’s wonderful memories are his wife of 43 years: Mary Haymond; four children: Lori E Radell (Keith), Stefan Michael Haymond “Herbert Haymond III”, Cheryl Anne Stoe, and Robert W Rasmussen; two sisters: Marion Cooke and Ruth Pavlow. Ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also will cherish his memories.
The funeral service to honor the life of Herbert Haymond, Jr will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 121 Quail Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Military honors will be observed, and Bishop David Grinder will officiate the service. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 AM prior to the service. He will be laid to rest the following Monday at 1:00 PM in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inman Drive, Anderson, SC 29621. Brother Jerry Morriss will officiate the graveside.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for memorials made in lieu of flowers to the Spartanburg Ballet, in care of The Parkinson’s Dance Class.
Herbert will continue to live in the hearts of his family and friends,
The services are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
