Henry Fulbright

Henry Robert Mason Fulbright, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, April 3, 2016. Born October 2, 1929, in Greenville, SC, he was the husband of the late Eva Brown Fulbright and the son of the late Paul Henry and Narcie Lou Carithers Fulbright. A veteran of the Korean War and a 1957 Textile Engineering graduate of Clemson University, Henry worked for Milliken Corporation for more than 43 years. He began working as a youth in Judson Mill in Greenville and went on to retire from Milliken in 1994 after 37 years as a corporate executive. Henry and wife Eva loved to fish and camp. He was a member of the Wheelchair Unit of the Hejaz Shrine and looked forward to working at the Children's Hospital, at the Shrine Bowl, and with the Shrine Circus around the Upstate. Henry was very involved in the Order of Eastern Star, Roebuck Chapter #216 holding many offices. Henry is survived by daughter, Wanda and her husband Dr. Carl E. King, Jr. of Nashville, TN; son, Dr. Ron Fulbright and his wife Melodie of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, Lorie Spann (Eric) of Johns Island, SC, Daniel King (Emily) of Nashville TN, Andrew King of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Alex and Anna Fulbright of Greenville, SC; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jonathan, Ryan and Baby Girl King of Nashville, TN, and Lydia Spann of Johns Island, SC; sister, Vivian Crewz (Randal) of Hodgenville, KY; brother, Clifford Fulbright (Polly) of Greenville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Gorman; and brothers, Doyle and Fred Fulbright. Mr. Fulbright will lie in repose prior to the service. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Dr. Carl E. King, Jr. Visitation will follow the services at the Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
