Hedvine L. Caruso

December 22, 1929 — November 19, 2025

Roebuck

Hedvine "Hedy” L. Caruso, graced the world with her kind and nurturing spirit until her peaceful passing on November 19, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was born on December 22, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late John Schuhlein and Catherine Wiley.

As a devoted homemaker, Hedy dedicated her life to creating a warm and inviting home where family and friends could gather and feel loved. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she loved them tremendously. Known as the kindest person anyone could ever meet, her nurturing nature extended far and wide; she was often considered as everyone’s “mom.” Hedy had an extraordinary ability to help others navigate their worries, offering support and comfort with an open heart.

Hedy’s interests included a special love for animals, particularly her beloved Dalmatian, and took great joy in ensuring her bird feeders were always full, awaiting with anticipation the cardinals that frequented her yard. In her free time, she watched game shows and put together puzzles; but cooking was one her very special talents that she loved to share and those fortunate enough to visit her never left her home hungry.

Hedy leaves behind her cherished family, who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Harris (John) of Roebuck; her sons, Anthony Caruso, Jr. (Mary Jane) of York, Philip Caruso (Pam) of Chesnee, Raymond Caruso (Teresa) of Moore, and Paul Caruso (Cindy) of Roebuck. The legacy of her love lives on through her nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Hedvine is preceded in death by her dear husband, Anthony Caruso who passed away in 2015; and by one sister and four brothers.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The burial will be held privately for the family. Services will be conducted by the Rev. D.J. Horton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or the Spartanburg Humane Society, www.spartanburghumane.org
