Harvey Fletcher

Harvey Dupree Fletcher, 73, of 418 Candleglow Drive, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 28, 1936, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Eli James and Fannie Hixson Fletcher. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, he was retired from the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Department of Transportation. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, a Purple Heart recipient, a member of the VFW, and a proud member of the Lake Bowen Country Club. Survivors include a sister, Gail Fletcher Thomas Wood of Spartanburg; two nephews, Robert Thomas of Baltimore, MD, and Chris Thomas of Spartanburg; and a niece, Bonnie Thomas Kirby of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel.
