Harry Gilliam, Jr.

Harry Russell Gilliam, Jr., 65, of Boiling Springs, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at his home. Born July 8, 1943, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Harry Russell Gilliam, Sr. and Lucille Brooks Gilliam, and the husband of the late Donna Kay Blalock Gilliam. He was retired from Yellow Freight and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter, Kim Shumaker of Columbia; a brother, Ray "Bucky" Gilliam and his wife Barbara of Lake Bowen; and a grandson, Harlen Shumaker of Columbia. Cryptside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. The family will receive friends following the service at the cryptside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605; or to Palmetto Health Richland Children's Hospital, 5 Richland Medical Park Drive, Columbia, SC 29203.
