Harry Cleveland Brady, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, June 24, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Harry was born December 7, 1934, in Spartanburg County, a son of the late Howard Mathew and Mary Abigail Seay Brady. He and his wife, Peggy, have been longtime members of First North Baptist Church.

Harry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Peggy Thomas Brady, of the home; his sons, Harry C. Brady, Jr. (Sandy) of Boiling Springs, SC, Chris Brady (Kathy) of Pickens, SC; and Michael Todd Brady (Melissa) of Roebuck, SC; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Harry was predeceased by a grandson, two brothers and two sisters.

He owned and operated Brady’s Frame & Alignment for over 60 years. He was a NASCAR enthusiast, having worked alongside the legendary Cotton Owens for a number of years. Harry earned the nicknamed “The Silver Bullet” by David Pearson. Harry was also a supporter of youth sports, serving as both a Little League coach and umpire for many years.

Fire service was a huge part of Harry’s life. He was one of the founders of North Spartanburg Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for 37 years. Prior to his service at North Spartanburg, Harry served with the Hilltop Fire Department. He also served as a Commissioner with the Inman Community Fire Department.

Harry was also a strong supporter of Law Enforcement. He served as a reserve officer with the SC Department of Natural Resources and with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Department (under Sheriff Larry Smith).

The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Monday, June 29, 2026, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service to honor the life of Harry Brady will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at First North Baptist Church, 8740 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29316, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mike Hamlet. Burial, with Fireman Honors conducted by the Spartanburg County Fireman’s Honor Guard, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First North Baptist Church, 8740 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29316.
