Harold Romeyn Copeland, 87, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed peacefully on January 1, 2026, at Inverness in Spartanburg. Born June 26, 1938, in Buffalo, South Carolina, he lived a life marked by loyalty, service, and deep devotion to his family.
Harold was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ernest and Bessie Copeland; his wife, Brenda Copeland; his son, Christopher H. Copeland; his brother, Sam Copeland and his stepdaughter, Kimberly Dawn Bennett.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sharon Copeland; his sister-in-law, Judy Love (Bobby); grandchildren, Kandace Bennett, Stormie Wyatt, Grace Swofford (Tristin), Forrest Copeland (Amanda), and Zack Wyatt (Logan); and great-grandchildren Bryce Copeland, Trace Swofford, and Lainey Swofford. Harold treasured family above all and found his greatest joy in visiting and spending time with those he loved.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. His service reflected a lifelong commitment to duty, integrity, and honor.
He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. Harold’s warm spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on his family.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Harold will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Larry Holland and military honors by the United States Air Force.
