Harold Eugene Burgess, 83, of Pacolet, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Harold was a man of Christian faith who trusted in the Lord throughout his life. His family finds comfort in knowing that he has entered his eternal home and has been reunited with loved ones who went before him.

Born June 15, 1943, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Otis Burgess and Mary Deaton Burgess.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Diane Lemmons Burgess, who passed away in June 2007; and his sister, Laverne McDaniel.

Harold was a hardworking and dedicated man. He spent many years working in maintenance, including employment with Alcoa, before retiring. Away from work, he enjoyed the blessings of God's creation and loved spending time outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to country music and sharing time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael E. Burgess; daughter, Tonya Ormand; brother, Johnny Burgess; sister, Janice Petterson (Neil); three grandchildren, Kayla White (Cody), Hannah Price, and Jordan Ormand; and three great-grandchildren, Makynleigh White, Emmaleigh White, and Annaleigh White.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. Burial will follow at Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. The Reverend Dennis Tessnier will be officiating.
