Gloria Iris Gonzalez-Vazquez

Gloria Iris Gonzalez-Vazquez, 76, of Spartanburg, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Gloria was born on May 3, 1948, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Francisca Vazquez and Rafael Irizarry. She was married to the late Jose Juan Alicea Millet. 

Gloria’s last employment was as a quality control manager at a manufacturing company in Charlotte, NC, where she raised her family. Her favorite job was being a loving mother, grandmother, and matriarch of her extended 69-member family. 

Gloria is survived by two daughters, Jessika Alicea and Waleska Alicea; four sons, Jose Juan Alicea, Edgar Lewis Alicea, Walberto Alicea, and Jason Alicea; her 18 grandchildren and a large number of great-grandchildren; and her four sisters and two brothers. 

 Mrs. Gonzalez-Vazquez wishes are to be returned to her native Puerto Rico where she will be buried alongside her beloved husband.
