Gerry Stockdale

Gerry Bailey Stockdale, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Summit Hills. Born October 27, 1930 in Pansey, AL, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Nannie Mae Brantley Bailey and the wife of the late George Alfred Stockdale. They were married for 56 years.

Gerry was a member, Sunday School teacher, and former Director of the WMU at Southside Baptist Church. She was also the Interfaith Witnessing Director for the Spartanburg County Baptist Network.

Survivors include a son, Lynn Stockdale of Moore, SC; her daughters, Susan S. Lueck (Les) of Spartanbug, SC, and Janice S. Wells (Danny) of Lyman, SC; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Lueck Anderson (Brian), Lindsey Lueck Outz (Beau), Victoria Stockdale, Samuel Stockdale, Jeremiah Stockdale (Tavia) Chase Meyer (Amy), Jr. Stevens; and nine great-grandchildren: Lily Kate, Luke, Colton, Layla, Bailey Mae, Banks, Blakely, Emmie and Sophie; siblings, Dorothy Thomas, Thomas Bailey, John Bailey and Joe Bailey. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tiffany Stockdale and a sister, Sarah Sparnell.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Dr. Benjamin Littlejohn. Visitation will follow at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
