Gerald David Ricks, husband of the late Holle Elke Schneider-Ricks, passed away peacefully and entered eternal rest on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Gerald was born in Houston, Texas. He was the son of the late Thomas Dale Ricks and the late Anna Lee Nivens Ricks. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the United States Army where he served his country proudly and with honor for twenty years. Gerald was a decorated veteran receiving the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Devices, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star, and Good Conduct Medal.

Gerald will be honored with full military honors at a graveside service held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veteran Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, South Carolina 29621. He will once again be joined with the love of his life and wife, Holle Elke Schneider-Ricks.
