Jorge Nunes da Silva, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, March 14, 2026. A native of Brazil, he was the son of the late Candido Dutra da Silva and Noemia Nunes da Silva. 

Jorge was a proud naturalized citizen of the United States. He was a renowned watchmaker and jeweler and owned Linder’s Jewelers for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. 

Pre-deceased by his wife Ilka Rychecki da Silva, survivors include a son, Roberto Rychecki da Silva (Kelli), of Simpsonville, SC; a daughter, Cynthia da Silva Sutherlin (Robert) of Farmington Hills, MI; grandchildren, Kevin da Silva and Alexandra da Silva. He is also survived by his sister Jeny da Silva McAbee (David) and brother Julio da Silva. 

Family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Megan Gray. Burial will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1320 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
