Frank James Salerno, age 69, passed away Tuesday June 22, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born February 26, 1954 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles P and Rose (Curran) Salerno.
Frank graduated from Darby Township High School. He was employed as a supervisor at Pet Dairy and Poly Deck. After moving to Spartanburg, he worked for Emcore at Michelin Corporation where he retired in March 2023. Frank supervised the knife shop at Michelin where he was responsible for knife sharpening throughout the plant.
Frank had a special interest in Harley Davidson motorcycles and Chevy Camaros. He was an avid fan of football, hockey and golf with his favorite teams being the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers and the Phillies. He also had a special affection for his pet dogs, Bear and Emma and especially his late dog, Sugar.
Frank is survived by his fiancé, Karen Robinson, children: Frank (Terri) Salerno, Carl (Kristen) Salerno, Matthew (Christine) Salerno and PJ. Siblings: Charles (Maryann) Salerno, Robert (Diana) Salerno, nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his sister, Linda Steenberg.
A Celebration of Life to honor Frank’s memory will be held at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at 4:00. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45.
