Evelyn Magee

Evelyn McMillan Magee, after 98 years on this earth, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in the arms of her daughter. Born December 10, 1919, in Spartanburg County, SC, she is predeceased by her parents, Ossian R. McMillan and Pearl Leola McMillan. She was the widow of James J. "Jim" Magee, the love of her life, for whom she converted to the Catholic faith and is a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Evelyn is survived by her son, Michael J. Magee, his wife, JoAnne Magee and their daughter, Jacqueline Magee, all of Baltimore, MD; and her daughter, Patricia "Patty" Johnson and her sons, Jacob Johnson, and Peter Johnson, his wife, Jessica Wigington Johnson, and their daughter, Vera, who is Evelyn's only great-grandchild, all of the Spartanburg, SC area. Also surviving are her numerous nieces and nephews in the Spartanburg, SC and Philadelphia, PA areas, including a special niece, Beverly (Twinkles Blackman) Haulk of Spartanburg. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Mrs. Virginia Painter. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
