Evelyn B. Cantrell

Evelyn B. Cantrell 94, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Evelyn was born on December 22, 1929, to the late Ralph L. Burrell and Alma Baker Burrell. She lived a life that was beautifully intertwined with love for her family, and her home.

Evelyn worked at various businesses as a part time secretary, but it was in her role as a loving homemaker that she truly thrived. A remarkable mother, she took great joy in nurturing her children, providing them with wisdom and guidance. Her steadfast support and warmth were the cornerstones of her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Throughout her life, Evelyn's hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit. She found comfort and joy in cross stitching, engaging storytelling through her love of reading, and the challenge of puzzles. As a passionate baker, the delicious aromas from her kitchen brought smiles and warmth to her family gatherings. Evelyn proudly celebrated her 39-year marriage to her late husband, William R. Cantrell Sr. Their devotion to each other was evident to all who knew them and set a beautiful example of love and commitment. While their time together was cut short with his passing, the memories they created remain eternal.

Evelyn is survived by her children; Melinda Cantrell and Bill Cantrell, two sisters; Pamela B. Fouche (Clarence) and Hazel Burrell, a brother; William Burrell. Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband, William R. Cantrell Sr., her parents Ralph Burrell and Alma Baker Burrell, and a sister; Brenda B. Harle.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens 1300 Fernwood- Glendale Road Spartanburg, SC 29307, beginning at noon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Evelyn Cantrell to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House; 686 Jeff Davis Dr. Spartanburg, SC 29303.
