Eunice Selma “Trudy" Owens Baker, a true servant to others, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at her caregivers residence with her family by her side. Eunice was eighty-nine years of age.
Trudy was born in Cross, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lamar Owens and the late Dora Singletary Owens Rourk. She was also preceded in death by five siblings: Thomas (Miriam) Owens, Connie (Allen) Proctor, David (Natlee) Owens, Marvin (Ethel) Owens, Louis (Maebelle) Owens, and Billy (Bobbi) Owens; one grandson: Ronnie Lee “Allen” West.
Trudy will be remembered for her kindness to others and her servant’s heart.
She will also be remembered by many for being a greeter and food demonstrator at Sam’s Club in Spartanburg. She had a passion for humming birds, working in her yard, and the grand kids. In her spare time, you could find her sipping on a hot cup of coffee or a cold Pepsi. Her family will miss her fried chicken, sweat tea, and macaroni and cheese. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Left to cherish Trudy’s many memories are her five children: Wanda Gail Baker, Tom Baker (Wanda), Michelle Mavromatis (Pete), Stella Hill, and Dennis “Crunch" Chynoweth (Leigh Anne); grandchildren: Brandy Baker, Jessica West, Jessica Baker, Jonquill Garner, Jami Garner, Johanna Garner, Jacqueline Garner, Marina Vowell, Penelope Mavromatis, Stelios Mavromatis, Yeorgios Mavromatis, Shaina Brannon (Micheal), David “Ross” Hill, Jacob Hill, William Marvin Anthony Chynoweth (Sarah), Autum Chynoweth (Summer), Bailey Chynoweth (Isaiah), Drew Chynoweth (Emma), Ashleigh “Bekah" Chynoweth, one brother: Gerald (Nadine) Owens. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service to honor Trudy’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. You are cordially invited to join the family in the celebration of a life well lived.
Trudy's memories will continue to live in the hearts of all her family and friends.
The arrangements are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
