Ethel Jones Metz, 100, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home. Born November 10, 1917 in Eastman, GA, she was the daughter of the late Martin Monroe and Alma Nixon Jones, and the widow of Albert Edward Metz. Ms. Ethel moved to Cramerton, NC during high school and then to Spartanburg, where she married in the 1940's. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, and seamstress. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include a daughter, Treena Pullen (David) of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly Pullen (Dedrick) and Christen Cantrell (Steven); greatgrandchild, Hauvan Cantrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a son, Samuel Metz; sisters, Nina Fisher and Blanche Cain; and brothers, William Jones and Charles Jones. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by the Rev. Michael Shackelford. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Lineberger Memorial Mausoleum Columbarium, c/o St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
