Ernestine White

Ernestine Holland (Holly) White, 56, of 104 Galaxie Place, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 16, 1953, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Ernestine Holland White of the home and the late James Nelson White, Sr. and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Holland. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and USC-Spartanburg with a degree in Nursing. She was also a graduate of the USC-Columbia with B.S.N. and M.N. degrees. As a Registered Nurse, she worked in various roles and facilities including USC-Spartanburg, the Spartanburg County Health Department, and Rutledge College. Holly was honored with a membership into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in Spartanburg. Survivors include a nephew, Bradley Seth White of Spartanburg; aunts, Mrs. W. D. Hardy, Mrs. Harry Belk, and Mrs. Dorothy Snyder; an uncle, George William Snyder; cousins, Patty and David Swope, Dotsie Randall, Billy and Anna Hardy, Billy Snyder, Dr. Clint Belk, and Elizabeth and Lee Smith. She was predeceased by her brother, James Nelson White, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Graves and Janet Horton. Visitation will follow the services at the Chapel. A private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
