Emily Jean Pritchard, 89, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, entered her Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.
Emily was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg, and the daughter of the late Lee Roy Cudd and the late Ella Williams Cudd. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Lyvone Pritchard; her two daughters: Sheila Burger and Charlotte Elaine Jolly: granddaughter: Emily Fortner; brothers: Kenneth Cudd, John Cudd, Van Cudd, and Albert Cudd.
She was a retired seamstress with S & S Manufacturing; the job she was most proud of was being a homemaker. Taking care of her family was always of most importance to her. To her children she was the definition of what a mother should be. She was a virtuous lady and a devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook and will be remembered for her peanut butter cake, French fries, and macaroni and cheese. Sunday dinners were an occasion she always looked forward to. She will be remembered in the hearts of all her loved ones and friends.
Left to cherish her many memories are her son: Ricky Lynn Fortner; Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends between 12:00 – 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral to honor Emily’s life will be held at 1:30 PM following the visitation at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel with Rev. Ken Hales officiating. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Emily will continue to live in the hearts of everyone that knew and loved her.
The arrangements are entrusted into the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
