Eileen Campbell

Eileen Bridgeman Campbell, age 95, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, October 7, 2022, in Spartanburg.

She was born in Landrum on February 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Susie Pettit Bridgeman and James E. Bridgeman and was the widow of Clarence Beauford Campbell after 69 years of marriage.

Eileen was known as “Sis” to everyone and was the matriarch of the family. Sis was a Homemaker, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and a Great Lady with the keenest sense of humor right up till the very end.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy Williams, Patricia Black, Rita Russell, Ruby McArdle (Pete), and Pamela Ballenger; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters Dorothy "Dot" Turner of Campobello, Thelma Thompson of Rutherfordton, NC, and brother, Donald Bridgeman of Landrum. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 4:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Dr. James C. Hilton. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
