Edward "Eddie" Earl Southern, 66, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his residence. Born August 10, 1960, in Belle Glade, FL, he was a son of the late William Harvey and the late Lillian Owens Southern. He was employed at White Oak Management for 47 years in maintenance and he was a dedicated member of Fairforest Church of God.

Eddie will be remembered as a kind, strong, and Godly man. He was a loving husband, father, and a great provider to his family. You couldn’t help but laugh at his humor and his really corny jokes. He was a light to everyone he met and that was around him. He will be greatly and heavily missed but know that he is now whole and healed with his Lord and Savior.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Lynn Brown Southern; son, Aaron Southern of the home; daughter, Anna Vaughn (Andrew) of Duncan, SC; sister, Loretta Ann Hawkins (James) of Duncan, SC; brother, William Southern, Jr. of Rankin, MS; several nieces and nephews and special great-great niece also known as the fill in granddaughter, Emily Borgnis. He was predeceased by his guard dog, Pebbles Pearl Southern. 

The family will receive friends between 1:30 - 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Fairforest Church of God. The funeral service to honor Eddie's life will start at 3:00 PM following the visitation.  Eddie will be laid to rest at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 14, 2026, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. 

Active pallbearers will be Aaron Southern, Andrew Borgnis, Zachary Wilhere, Nick Wilhere, Tim West, and Mike Hawkins.

Eddie will continue to live in the hearts of his family and friends.
