Obituary

Edna Ravan Wofford, 85, passed away on May 17, 2026, in Spartanburg, SC after a brief illness. She was born on February 8, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, the daughter of Herman William Clark and Edna Caul Clark. Edna was born and raised in Spartanburg, where she resided all her life. She was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist and a devout Christian.

Edna worked for over half a century as a tax preparer for H&R Block. She also worked at Sears Roebuck & Co. at Westgate Mall for many years.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Vernon Fred “Dick” Ravan and Donald Wofford. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jerry Clark and James Richard Clark. She was also predeceased by her son, Tony Ravan. She is survived by one brother Samuel Preston Clark of Spartanburg. In addition, she is survived by her son, Fred Ravan of Bangor, ME and by her daughter-in-law, Angie Ravan of Spartanburg. Edna is also survived by five grandchildren: Craig Ravan (Kayla) of Spartanburg; Noah Ravan of Chicago, IL; Seamus Ravan of Bangor, ME; Peyton Ravan of Spartanburg; and Molly Ravan of Burlington, VT.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to her sister-in-law, Lucy Clark, for her unwavering care and support. Her help was invaluable and helped make Edna’s last days warm, comfortable, and filled with happiness.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg. Graveside will follow immediately at the same location in Floyd’s Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society.
