Dot, as she was affectionately known, was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the daughter of the late John Bailus Mason and the late Martha Sue Etta Gosnell Mason. She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Edward Wilson; two brothers: Thomas L Mason and his wife Lelleree and Robert G Mason and his wife Virginia “Charlie”.
Dot was a graduate of Tri High School in Caroleen, North Carolina and attended Spartanburg Junior College. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She had a successful career with the Spartanburg Family Court. Her job title she loved most grandmother. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish Dot’s memories are her son: Mason Wilson (Susan); a daughter: Kelly Martin (Michael Brown); five grandchildren: Kyle Martin (Bree), Eli Martin (Anna), Jamison Wilson (Morgan), Jennifer Parks, and Mandy Gentry (Chase); four great grandchildren: Holden Grice, Jasper Martin, Valkyrie Martin. And Emory Keeter. She is also survived by her “Bestest Friend in The Whole Wide World”: Suzanne Bradley.
A graveside service to honor Dot’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pastor Ty Childers will be officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for memorial contributions made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
The arrangements are entrusted into the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
