Doris I. Quinn, 76, passed away on July 25, 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was born on December 29, 1947, in Cowpens, to the late John William Inman and Lorene Linder Inman.
She graduated from Cowpens High School in 1966 where she was also a Cheerleader. Her spirit and enthusiasm were evident both in the classroom and on the field. Those who knew her growing up remember her as a very athletic individual, always full of energy and passion for sports. Doris indulged in one of her passions - cooking. She found joy in creating delicious meals for her family and friends.
Doris could be a little headstrong at times, but she approached life with determination and resilience with her strong-willed personality. Doris dedicated 35 years of her life at KOSA before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. In her spare time,
Doris was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church in Cowpens. One of Doris's proudest accomplishments was being a Sunday School Teacher for 4 & 5-year-olds for many years. Her nurturing and kind nature made a lasting impact on the young minds she taught.
Doris will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends, including her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Quinn; son, Yancy Quinn of Spartanburg; sister, Eunice Sellers of Boiling Springs; and sister, Virginia Patton (Connie) of Cowpens. She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Harold Inman, John Inman, and Martha Fain.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Central Baptist Church in Cowpens,126 E. Church St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm in the church. Services to be conducted by Rev. Jason Metcalf and Rev. Jody McGaha. The burial will be held at 2:00 pm in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 S. 566, Cowpens, SC 29330.
In lieu of flower and in honor of Doris, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
