Donald Timothy Burroughs, 68, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Atrium Health Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Donald was born on January 15, 1958, in Spartanburg SC, a son of the late William J. and Margaret Watts Burroughs.
A graduate of Spartanburg High School and the University of South Carolina, Donald was a proud veteran of the US Army. He was employed with Georgia-Pacific, serving as Senior National Sales Manager.
In his free time, he found the greatest joy in the simple things he loved most. He was a devoted South Carolina Gamecock football fan who looked forward to cheering them on every season, enjoyed attending live music concerts, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family. He also adored his dog, Bella, and found peace and happiness at the beach, where many of his favorite memories were made.
Surviving is his loving wife of 28 years, SueAnn Sheehan Burroughs; his daughters, Kylie Burroughs of Tampa, FL and Mavis Burroughs of Lafayette, LA; his brother, David Burroughs (Cindy) of McConnells, SC; his sisters, Diane Graham (David) and Debora Harley of Spartanburg; and his sister-in-law Julie Dey (Joe) of Augusta, GA; and his mother-in-law, Bonnie Sheehan.
Along with his parents, Donald was predeceased by a brother, Danny Burroughs; a nephew, Scott Burroughs; and his father-in-law, Thomas Sheehan.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., in the church sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Ricky Howell. Burial, with military honors, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
