Donald Ray Blanton

Donald Ray Blanton, aged 81, passed peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by his twin daughters. Don was born on October 7, 1944, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. 

Don retired after an enduring and successful career as a Truck Driver. Although he did not stay retired for long, he went on to work 10+ more years with Pickens Roofing. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing with friends, and hanging out with his beloved African Grey Bird, Lucy. He was a generous and caring man who spent his final years deeply caring for the stray cats around his house. 

He is survived by his ex-wife, Andrea Blanton, his daughters, Tabitha Sprouse (Richard) and Tammy Corbin (Matt), and his grandchildren, Natalie, Alex, and Ava. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Blanton. He is predeceased by his long-term significant other, Donna Rice, his sister, Mildred Blanton Burns, his mother, Allie Coates Perry, and his father, Ray Blanton. 

Don was deeply loved by all who knew him, and he will be missed profoundly. Friends and family are welcome to join us for a Celebration of Life, date to come later.
