Dianne Brooks Jones, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, entered her Heavenly Home on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the age of 83.
Dianne was born in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Minor Clyde Shipp and the late Minnie Lee Myers Shipp. She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Nathan Aramus Reynolds; and a brother: Rex Willis Shipp.
Dianne was a faithful and active member of Second Presbyterian Church. She loved her Lord first and foremost and then her family. She enjoyed spending time in her kitchen cooking for her friends and loved ones. She will always be remembered for her cobblers, crunchy baked chicken, banana pudding, and turkey and dressing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Dianne will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Left to cherish her many memories are her devoted husband of 60 years: Richard S Jones; a daughter and son-in law: Beverly Jones and Robert Cozart; grandchildren: Christopher Lee Nelson Jones ( Alex Paige), Jimmy Splawn (Laura), and Tristan Vanderburg; great grandchildren: Eloise Grace Jones, Elijah Fisher Jones, and Emma Grace Splawn; one sister and brother-in-law: Susan and James Neal. One special bonus daughter: Torri Vanderburg.
The family will receive friends between 12:30 - 1:30 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The funeral service to honor Dianne’s life will follow the visitation and begin at 1:30 PM with Pastor Hudson Nealy officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC.
Dianne’s wonderful memories will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Second Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg.
The arrangements are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
