Diane King

Diane Holden King, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Saturday evening, December 11, 2021, at her home with her family at her side. She was born February 3, 1946 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Holden and Ethel Naomi O’Dell Holden.

Diane was a 1964 graduate of Spartanburg High School, graduated from Spartanburg Junior College in 1966 and Winthrop College in 1968. She was retired from Spartanburg School District Six after 28 years of service.

A member of Covenant Baptist Church, Diane was the perfect pastor’s wife, married to Monty King for 53 wonderful years. She had two children, Chris King (Cindy) and Bryan King (Courtney) and two grandsons, Cayden King and Curren King. Also surviving, her brother, Ken Holden (Beth) of Georgetown, KY, proud Aunt to Tim Holden (Gina) of Wake Forest, NC, Jennifer Raley (Jesse) of Columbia, SC, Greg Holden (Hannah) of Richmond, KY and Lizzy Robinette (Steven) of Florence, SC. Diane was predeceased by two brothers, Phil Duane Holden and Alan Ralph Holden.

Visitation for friends and family will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the chapel, conducted by her husband, The Rev. Monty King and her brother, The Rev. Kenneth D. Holden. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
