Della Maude Whitt

Della Maude Lipsey Whitt, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Peachtree Center in Gaffney, SC. Della was born on December 1, 1936, in Union, SC; a daughter of the late Mary Pearl Baldwin Lipsey and Willie Austin Lipsey, Sr. She was married to the late John H. Whitt.

Della was a former employee of Pacolet Manufacturing Company and Spartan Mills and was a former member of Gilead Baptist Church in Jonesville. She loved to spend time gardening and collecting antiques.

She is survived by a brother, Millard Lipsey; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Price; and numerous nieces and nephews. Della was predeceased by her two sons, John Richard Whitt and Chris Kenneth Whitt; two sisters, Peggy Henderson and Shirley Moss; and six brothers, Roger Dale Lipsey, Ronnie Edward Lipsey, Jerry Leon Lipsey, Joe Leonard Lipsey, Willie Austin Lipsey, Jr., and Marvin Albert Lipsey.

Details for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
