Debra “Debbie” McAbee Knight, 72, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Debra was born August 10, 1954, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Betty Roddy and Fred McAbee, Jr.
Debbie was a retired machine shop owner who enjoyed many years working in the industry. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially visiting the mountains, and going to her grandchildren’s baseball games. She had a special love for animals, especially her beloved dog, “Ben”. She was known for her kind and generous heart. Above all, Debra treasured her family and the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Debbie had a lifelong love of Ford Mustangs and enjoyed going for car rides, whether it was a short trip close to home or a long drive to a faraway destination; She simply loved being on the road and enjoying the journey.
She is survived by her three children: Beverly Cox (Travis), Christy Trivette (Blaine), and Casey Knight (Jayme), all of Boiling Springs; nine grandchildren: Seth, Isaac, Daisy, Grafton, Julia, Shelby (Michael), Love, Casey Jay, and Jackson; a brother, Mike McAbee (Jackie); a sister, Freda Hughes (Terry); and her aunt, Brenda Blanton and her uncle Ralph Roddy; her niece Jennifer Bush (Chris); her nephews: Jason McAbee, Brandon McAbee (Crystal) and Cameron McAbee (Cassie). In addition, many loving extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at First North Spartanburg Baptist Church, 8740 Asheville Hwy Spartanburg, SC 29316 with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Rev Mike Hamlet officiating. A committal service will follow at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Tommy Comer officiating.
Debra will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love for her family.
