David Stoltz, Jr.

David R. Stoltz, Jr., 62, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at his home. Born April 9, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Dr. David R. Stoltz and Louella Von Till Stoltz. A 1978 business graduate of the University of South Carolina, Mr. Stoltz was vice president of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and worked in project management for many years with Nico Construction in Houston, and the Rouse Company of Charlotte. A dedicated volleyball player, David looked forward to his weekly game with his long-term friends, which stretched over decades. He enjoyed gardening, and the lakes of the Upstate, and Ice, his Weimaraner, was his constant companion. Survivors include his sisters, Mary Ellen Bianco (Sal) of New York, NY, Nancy Stoltz (Craig Corbitt) of Mill Valley, CA, and Andrea Dunlevy (Greg) of Plano, TX; brother, Dr. Peter Stoltz (Dr. Brooke Stoltz) of Lexington, SC; aunt, Elizabeth Warren of Las Vegas, NV; uncles, Paul Von Till of Hancock, ME, Stephen Von Till of San Jose, CA, and Louis Von Till of St. Louis, MO; nieces, Anna Rose Bianco and Maria Louisa Bianco, both of New York, NY, Caroline Corbitt of Oakland, CA, Jessica D. Henning of London, England, Rebecca Dunlevy of San Francisco, CA, Kara Dunlevy of New York, NY, Dr. Lindsey Stoltz, Courtney Stoltz, and Shelby Stoltz, all of Lexington, SC; and nephew, Tyler Stoltz of Lexington, SC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Historic St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by Father David Whitman. The family will receive friends at the home following the service. The family would like to thank his faithful caregiver and friend, Karen McCollum, and all those who, over the last year, stood with him in his battle against cancer.
