David Mathis

David Frankie Mathis, 78, of Greer, SC, died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home. Born December 1, 1944 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Buford Padgett and Evelyn McKinney Mathis and was the husband of the late Betty Jean Blackwell Mathis.

David was an employee of Arrow Automotive for over 30 years. He loved to fish, Clemson Football, and his daughters. He was a member of Fingerville First Baptist Church and was a very kind person.

Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Mathis (Olivia) of Greer, SC and Wendy Kay Kimbrell of Spartanburg, SC; and grandson, Joshua Kimbrell (Ashley) of Lyman, SC. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Amber Kay Crowe, his first wife, Theresa Kay Emory Mathis, and his sister, Brenda Anders.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by The Rev. Andy Case.
