Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Dale later moved with his family to Union, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Glenn M. Roberts and Druscilla Blanche Roberts. A 1970 graduate of Union High School, Dale was affectionately known by many as "Hambone." Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He later earned his bachelor's degree from Limestone University in 1980 and enjoyed a successful career as a Senior Buyer with ZF Lemförder.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rhonda Q. Roberts; his son, Shea Roberts (Tonya Lynn); his daughter, Michelle Patton (Lyle); his cherished grandchildren, Josie Roberts (Tyler Miller), Kadence Roberts, Cole Patton, and Quinnley Patton; his precious great-grandson, Jameson Tate Miller; his sister, Sandra "Sister" Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn M. Roberts, Jr. and Larry Roberts.

A faithful member of Putman Baptist Church, Dale's love for the Lord was evident in the way he lived each day. He found great joy in working outdoors, camping, making people laugh, and spending time with his family. Whether sharing a story, lending a helping hand, or simply offering a warm smile, Dale had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He will be remembered as a kind, dependable, hardworking man whose positive attitude, infectious smile, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Putman Baptist Church, 3892 West Buffalo Springs Highway, Buffalo, South Carolina.

Dale's legacy of faith, love, laughter, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.

"His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."Matthew 25:23 (KJV)
