Colonel Oliver F. Easler, retired; passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the age of 98.
Oliver was born December 24, 1927, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late G.W. and Mary Ruth Easler. He was also the husband of the late Joyce Wells Easler He was a United States Army veteran with service in the 82 Airborne Division, A infantry platoon leader with the 2nd infantry division during the Korean War. He finished his thirty-four-year military career as a full-time Colonel with the Army National Guard. He then was a Human Resource Manager with Felter’s Company and later retired from there.
He attended Clemson University and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He also graduated from the Army Command and Staff College. He was also a recipient of the South Carolina Order of The Palmetto.
Survivors include his stepdaughters: Marcia Hood (Frank), Gale Teaster (Henry), and Paula Teasler; a special friend: Brenda Jones.
A celebration of life gathering will be held between 12:30 – 1:45 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The inurnment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens – Heritage Chapel following the service. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery.
In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Mobile Meals or the charity of your choice.
The arrangements are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
