Clayton Dutton Jr., 83 of Chesnee, went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of the late Patricia Walker Dutton, and the son of the late Clayton Dutton Sr., and Annie Mae Chapman Dutton.
Clayton was born February 9, 1942, in Spartanburg County. He retired from Southern Railway after 32 years which is now known as Norfolk Southern, and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son Clayton Allan Dutton of Chesnee; four daughters, Cyndi Stephens and her husband Alan of Boiling Springs, Lynn Dutton of Chesnee, Teresa Chandler and her husband Mitch of Wellford, and Sherrie Stoffer and her husband Michael of Gaffney; one brother Dean Dutton; fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was pre-deceased by a sister Shirley Helms.
Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Pallbearers will Josh Stephens, Daniel Stephens, Aden Harris, Trey Harris, Wesley Wilkie, Chris Dutton, and Tyler Flint.
