Clarence Mckelvey

Clarence William "C. W." McKelvey, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 28, 1923, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Will and Bertha Satterfield McKelvey. C. W. loved to fish and enjoyed gardening and working outside. Surviving are his sons, Leon McKelvey, James McKelvey, and Donnie McKelvey, all of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Thelma Wilks of Inman, SC; sister and brothers, Rachel Holder, Cletus McKelvey (Mary) and Howard McKelvey (Betty), all of Boiling Springs, SC; as well as numerous grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Matthews McKelvey and second wife, Helen Mullins McKelvey; sons, Wayne McKelvey and Michael Dale McKelvey; sisters, Pearl Lackey and Audrey Spearman; and brothers, James "J. T." McKelvey, William "Bill" McKelvey, and Conley McKelvey. Visitation will be 12:00-12:45 PM Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Michael Coward. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
