Claire Webb Wood

Mrs. Claire Ader Webb Wood, 94, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, December 21, 2023, at her home. A native of Gaston County, NC, she was born on May 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Garland Gordon and Anna Elizabeth Ledbetter Webb and wife of the late Lee Roy Wood.

She was a member of Gravely United Methodist Church and retired from Drayton Mill after 33 plus years.

Surviving are her daughters, Emily W. Lane (Richard) of Belton and Deborah W. Greene of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Celeste Gwinn, Candace Davis, Russell Greene, Brandon Greene, Carrie Moon; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Donald Lee Wood and her twelve siblings.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Mike Volkman. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
