Christopher Thomas Powell, 57, of Spartanburg, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026. He was born on October 25, 1968, to Richard and Wanda Powell. He was well known for his love of music and playing in several bands throughout his life. A talented guitarist, Christopher found joy in picking up his guitar and sharing his passion for music with those around him. His music was an important part of who he was and will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and fellow musicians.

Surviving family members are his father, Richard Powell; mother, Wanda Powell; children, Rebecca Ervin (Levi) and Jacob Powell (Anna); and three grandchildren, Natalie Ervin, Charlie Ervin, and Wesson Powell; brothers, Scottie Powell and David (Jennifer) Powell; and uncle, John Powell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
