Charlene P. Blikle, passed away peacefully on November 24 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was born on April 9, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Robert Blikle and Helen Johnson Blikle.
She was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her commitment to family, community, and service.
Charlene's early career began with Wise Foods, but at the age 40, she resolved to make a more significant impact. This decision led her to pursue the path of law enforcement, where she dedicated herself to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. After 23 years of service, Charlene retired as a Lance Corporal (LCPL), leaving behind a legacy of bravery and integrity. Despite her petite stature at 5 feet, she was a brave little person, embodying strength and courage.
Known for her very family-oriented nature, Charlene was a source of joy and laughter. She possessed a unique, dry sense of humor that would make you laugh, she was very funny without realizing it.
Charlene cherished her time spent in Hawaii, where she lived with her sister for two years, full of adventure and love. She had a passion for cooking and baking, often preparing delightful meals for her family. A born-again Christian, she held her faith close to her heart..
She leaves behind a loving family including her daughter, Tamarie Matics (Terry) of Lakemore, Ohio; her beloved siblings, Elesa Shaver (Charlie) of Spartanburg, Bobby Blikle (Karen) of Moore, Linda Fant of Boiling Springs, and Carol Neely (Mike) of Greer; along with her cherished four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Additionally, she is survived by six nieces and nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will continue to honor her memory.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald Blikle. As family and friends gather to commemorate her life, they will remember not only her accomplishments but also the love and joy she brought to their lives.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Floyds Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 SC-9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A memorial service will follow the visitation, beginning at 2:00 PM and conducted by the Rev. David Frost.

Charlene P. Blikle will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
