Carolyn Bryson

Carolyn Moore Bryson, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, October 2, 2022 at her home. Born October 19, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lawton and Maedean Steadman Moore.

Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University. She volunteered with Spartanburg Regional Hospice for 10 years and held many offices in Christian Women Clubs. She was a member of The Furman Singers, and a member of First Baptist Spartanburg where she was a choir member for 35 years.

Carolyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and loving wife.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Basford Belew “BB” Bryson, Jr.; her sons, Jeff Bryson (Kim McCrary) of Brevard, NC, Barry Bryson (Denise) of Spartanburg, SC, and Benjamin Bryson of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jeanne Begg of Greenville, SC.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 2:45 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 at First Baptist Spartanburg, 250 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Memorial service will be at 3:00 pm at the church, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton, Jr., The Rev. Sal Barone, The Rev. Steve Skinner, and The Rev. Dr. Carey W. Hedgpeth. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
